Risk Consultation — the Five Step Approach
Potential Risk Identification
CTSS will identify any potential risk facing our client’s personnel or investment. This includes financial and liability risks, political and regulatory risk, as well as physical threats and environmental dangers.
Risk Assessment and Evaluation
Upon identifying the risks, we will evaluate and rank them according to the potential harm they could cause or impact they could have on a client's operations. This gives the client a clear order of priorities as to which threats to reduce exposure to before they have a potentially harmful impact on the investment or personnel. It gives the client a clear view of the threat picture, and its gravity, that they face in any particular environment.
Potential Scenario Planning
Once the Risk Identification and Assessment has been completed CTSS will work with the client to develop and execute a number of modeled or hypothetical scenarios. In other words we will create a number of models in order to see what impact different events could have on the clients operations. These models once executed will then help the client see where the weaknesses are in his operations plan and in his physical security and will consequently help him to make prudent changes to his daily and strategic plans.
Risk Precautions
Once risks have been identified CTSS will work with the client to develop strategies to mitigate any existing risk. This could include executing investment strategies that limit the clients exposure to political, financial or physical risk and/or providing the client with consular services in the realm of physical and infrastructure security. It could also include the providing physical protection of the clients employees and their next of kin.
Pre-emptive and Precautionary Steps
If it is determined that a particular project, investment, or location is faced with extraordinary or unacceptable risks after all the information available has been reviewed and evaluated, CTSS will work with the client to develop a set of pre-emptive or precautionary steps. This could include outreach projects to the local communities or environmental groups, direct contact with pertinent government authorities or seeking government protection for exposed facilities. We will also work with the client to develop an exit strategy should the need arise to quickly vacate employees and their families, secure key infrastructure or equipment.
